This is a community where people may talk about difficult periods in their lives. We therefore want to be clear about what information we collect, why we use it, who may have access to it, and what choices you have.
Get Through Hard Stuff is a non-clinical support and education community.
This Privacy Policy applies to our website, waitlist, suitability process, membership administration, community activities, live sessions, communications and related services.

Wellbeing Mastery Academy determines the purposes and means of processing certain information relating to areas such as customer billing, payments, tax and financial administration.
Kevin Gibbs / Wellbeing Mastery Academy and Christopher Grinsted / Radiant Being, LLC may jointly determine the purposes and means of processing for some jointly operated GTHS activities.
[BEFORE LAUNCH: replace this paragraph with the final controller/joint-controller allocation following GDPR review and add the required Radiant Being contact information and Article 26 information where applicable.]
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.
We may collect:
Before joining, prospective members complete a suitability process. We may process information necessary to understand:
We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for these purposes.
If you become a member, we may process:
We may process posts, comments, messages, questions, reactions and other content that you choose to share.
Our service providers may process technical information such as:
We do not normally receive or store complete payment-card details ourselves. Payments are handled through the payment system used for the transaction.
Because GTHS deals with difficult life experiences, information provided by applicants or members may sometimes fall within the GDPR's special categories of personal data.
This may include information relating to:
You are not expected to provide unnecessary medical details or disclose more than is relevant.
Where we rely on your explicit consent to process special-category information, you will be clearly informed and asked to give that consent separately where required. You may withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. Withdrawal does not make processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal unlawful.
[FINAL ARTICLE 9 BASIS AND CONSENT MECHANISM TO BE CONFIRMED THROUGH GDPR REVIEW AND THE CIRCLE/WHOP PROCESS.]
Depending on the information and context, we may use personal data to:
Depending on the processing activity, ordinary personal data may be processed because:
Where information falls within Article 9 GDPR, an additional special-category condition must also apply. For information voluntarily provided in circumstances where we rely on consent, that condition may be explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a). Other Article 9 conditions may apply in limited circumstances where legally appropriate.
[FINAL LEGAL-BASIS MATRIX TO BE CONFIRMED BEFORE LAUNCH.]
Information you intentionally post within member areas may be visible to other members with access to that area. Members are required to respect one another's privacy and must not without permission:
However, no peer community can guarantee that another individual will always follow those rules. You should therefore use judgement about what you disclose. GTHS will not use a member's private story, photograph, sensitive disclosure or private community contribution for public marketing without appropriate written permission.
Personal-support sessions are normally unrecorded.
The main public portion of designated podcast sessions may be recorded for later publication. Members will be clearly informed when recording is taking place. Members may normally submit questions without having their name included in the published material. After the public recording ends, the intended members-only discussion is unrecorded by GTHS.
Members are prohibited from independently recording private GTHS sessions without appropriate permission. Where a person's voice, image or identifiable personal information would be intentionally used in public material, we will obtain whatever notice, permission or consent is legally required.
We use external service providers where necessary to operate GTHS. These may include:
Where a provider acts as our processor, appropriate data-processing terms must apply. Information intentionally shared within member areas will also be visible to members authorised to access those areas. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
[CIRCLE OR WHOP — AWAITING FINAL SELECTION AND ARTICLE 9/DPA CONFIRMATION]
[AWAITING PLATFORM AND PAYMENT DECISION]
Some providers or collaborators may be located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Personal data will not be transferred or made accessible internationally unless a lawful transfer mechanism applies where required. Depending on the recipient and circumstances, this may include:
[FINAL WMA / RADIANT BEING EU–US ACCESS ARRANGEMENT TO BE CONFIRMED BEFORE LAUNCH.]
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal obligations. Different information requires different retention periods. These include separate periods for:
[EXACT RETENTION PERIODS TO BE INSERTED AFTER THE PLATFORM & DATA OPERATIONS DOCUMENT IS COMPLETED.]
Information required under Finnish accounting or tax law may need to be kept for the applicable statutory period even after membership ends.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Administrative access should be limited according to genuine operational need. Individual accounts, appropriate passwords and multi-factor authentication should be used where available. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies required for the website to function. If we use non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies that require consent, they should not be activated until appropriate consent has been obtained.
[COOKIE IMPLEMENTATION TO BE CHECKED AGAINST THE FINAL WEBSITE SETUP.]
GTHS is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly offer membership to anyone under 18 years of age.
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. Where a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide appropriate notice where required. The current version will display its latest update date.
